When you first see the Local Server in Server Manager, you’ll notice a very weird computer name. It doesn’t harm you but no-one likes complicated name, more so when it is a Server. So in this post we’ll see how to change the name of your Server.
You can keep any name of your choice as Server Name, but remember it will be visible to other machines. So carefully select your server name.
- In Server Manager, click on Local Server.
You’ll see this screen. Move the cursor to ‘Computer Name’ and click on it.
Click on Server Name
- Add a computer description.
Note: This is just a description to identify your server. Click on ‘change’ button..Enter Description and click on Change
- Enter any name of your choice in ‘Computer Name’.
