VLC is the most used and trusted player, in both Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Many windows users also use media player, KMPlayer or Media Classic, but in Linux, no other software can beat VLC.
But installing VLC by source method will give a lot of dependencies problems, which frankly is quite hard to solve. So in this post we will see how to install VLC in CentOS in 4 easy steps.
cd /etc/yum.repos.d
Change directory to ‘/etc/yum.repos.d‘ because we will be downloading a new repo for vlc.wget http://pkgrepo.linuxtech.net/el6/release/linuxtech.repo
Download a repo, having vlc package in it.yum install vlc
Run yum command to install vlc.vlc
Just type vlc and hit enter. Make sure you switch back to normal user, before entering vlc!
