Now let’s check , how to spoof MAC address.

Adding an extra address over the existing one is called spoofing. It can be used to trick other computers or devices.

Do you really need to spoof your MAC ID?
Well not really. When you have a broadband connection on one laptop, and you want to use the internet with that same connection on other Laptop, you can use MAC spoofing.

When you insert the cable in your other machine and try the dial-up, you will get an error. Because the service provider’s server has your previous MAC address.
If you try to log in from new MAC address, it will show an error.

In this case, you can spoof the previous machine’s MAC address into your new one and use the internet on the new machine.

Let’s check the steps to spoof MAC address manually :

1. Check your current MAC by using ‘ipconfig /all’ in cmd (Start –> run –> cmd).

2. Go to Control Panel.

Select Network & Internet Connections.

Select Network & Internet Connections.

 

3. Inside Network Connections, select the LAN or Wireless Driver which ever you want to spoof.

Select the driver --> Right click --> Properties.

Select the specific device –> Right click –> Properties.

 

4. It will show your LAN Driver. Click on configure.

Select your LAN driver and click on 'configure'

5. Go to the Advanced tab :

6. Select ‘Network Address’
You’ll find by default ‘Not Present’ is selected.
That is the MAC entered by Manufacturer is presently the Current MAC id of this machine. Select ‘Value’ and enter the MAC address you want.

7. Click on OK. Right click –> Disable LAN –> Enable it again. Check MAC address in cmd.

Windows 7 :

Do the same procedure in Windows 7.

Here are the steps :

1. Control Panel –> Network and Internet –> Network and Sharing center –> Change Adapter settings.

Select 'Change Adapter Settings'
